1 Peter 2:9

We are a priesthood, a priesthood of royalty.

In the Old Testament, there was the office of the priest and the office of the king.

In the New Testament He is letting us know that those two offices(priesthood and royalty) have come together

We are king-priests to God.

And each of us has come into this functionality.

 

Revelation 1:5-6

We are Kings and Priests

The major role of a priest is to be one who reconciles men to God

He brings men to God.

And he does this through sacrifices, prayers and intercessions.

The bible says the priest is to offer sacrifices on behalf of the people and pray for the people.

 

2 Corinthians 5:19

God has reconciled men to Himself through the Lord Jesus Christ

And now He has brought us into the Ministry of reconciliation.

So, God is looking at us as priests to offer sacrifices of praise and prayer

God is not looking at men’s faults anymore because Christ has paid the penalty.

Jesus Christ became the sacrifice to pay for the sins of the world.

So, God will not reject anyone because of what the person has done.

He is not counting their sins against them.

But you must understand that it is one thing to be given and it is another thing to receive.

We are here to make men know that God loves them the way they are.

 

Truth is, no one can wash their sins by themselves.

If they could, they would

Is just like how men keep carrying their new year’s resolution to the next year.

Its not that that they did not want it or were not willing to do it, they just couldn’t.

 

 

 

The bible says it was God Himself who was reconciling the world unto Himself and not imputing their trespasses against them.

We are the ones to let them know this message.

It’s a message that tells people they can become one with God, they can now live the life of God!

That is what God has called us to go and tell the world!

 

Thank God we have the responsibility, and ability to let everyone who is not yet born again know that God has died for them and now they can be reconciled to Him!

 

So as priests, we are going to make sacrifices of thanksgiving and praises to God that men will come to the knowledge of what He has done for them.

Prayer is a vital part of what God has called us to do.

God recognizes us as priests, so we are the ones to pray for all men

 

We are the ones that He has called out and made priests and kings on behalf of the people.

 

Man is capable of destroying himself that is why He has called us to pray for men.

Prayer is a work!

God has called us out in a place of prayer.

 

Colossians 4:12

You are a priest unto God

 

Ephesians 6:12

These are spirit beings that influence other people.

Sometimes they can even influence a particular age group.

You find out that they all begin to behave in the same way.

Some might call it fashion or a trend but it is not!

 

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NKJV)

We should not joke with faith

Faith is sacred, it is a holy thing

Why would God tell his children that faith is sacred?

It is because many of us joke with it.

 

 

2 Corinthians 4:17 (NKJV)

Take note of what He says to Archippus!

Which means, it is possible to receive a ministry and not fulfil it

Take heed that you fulfil the ministry that God has given to you.

 

1 Samuel 12:23 (NKJV)
