An introduction to Faith
Pastor Earnest Teaching
We’ve discussed how Jesus came to bring us into a place of love, beauty and excellence
That is why apostle Paul in the scriptures said that ‘I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ’: Romans 1:16
This morning we are going to be talking on faith
The scriptures say that we live by faith
Faith is a beautiful doctrine that Jesus teaches us in the scriptures
The Bible says that God has blessed with all blessings; spiritual and earthly
But for us to enjoy all these blessings and all that Jesus came for, we need faith
An understanding of faith will help you live a beautiful life
What is faith?
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
Lets read it from the NLT, and MSG translations
Faith is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living
Faith like Pastor Chris tells us is the response of the human spirit to the word of God
That breaks it down to our everyday understanding; learning to rely and putting everything that you are on the word of God: taking the word of God as the only truth and responding to the word as the only truth
When you accept the word and live by it then you will be able to enjoy all the blessings of Christ
We know that the word of God doesn’t fail so no one can put his trust in God and say that he failed
Pastor actually says if it never worked then it wasn’t faith
We are talking about the confidence that we should put on what the word of God says
Romans 4:15-16 NKJV, AMP
When the law was revealed in the old testament, it became possible for man to be held liable for the things that he did
Romans 5:1-2
Justification comes only by faith
Faith brings us into Oneness with God
Not by our acts nor goodness anymore but by faith
We are born again by faith so we can also access our wealth, joy, peace, and many more blessings that God us given to us in Christ by faith
Once you are born again you are brought into that place of inheritance where you enjoy all that God has given to us by faith
He supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus
Faith is having confidence in what the word of God says
Now that you are born again, you culture yourself though the word of God
Galatians 3:1-2 NKJV
It is foolishness for anyone to think that He gets accepted by God because of what he does; it is pure foolishness
Because God is pure
A man is not a sinner because of what he has done, he is a sinner because he is a man
