Topic: 3 Elements to live a triumphant life
Pastor Earnest,
Last week we looked at 3 Elements to focus on to help you live the triumphant life that God has given to you.
As christians God has already prepared for us. JESUS did not die for us to suffer the things the world suffers. He resurrected to give us a life that is always triumphant.
God has vested all authority in the name of Jesus and he has given us that name, but we must learn how to use it, how to dominate and how to be on top all the time.
A lot of the time, Christians leave the path that God has created for them and look all around for different things. Allowing themselves to be distracted by the attractions or challenges around them, and they're not able to see the beautiful things God has provided for them.
If only we learn how to focus on the path that God has et us on. Choose to live in the place that he has called you into. Choose the life of a winner. We are of God, and we have overcome anything and anyone that seeks to stand against us.
Sermon - Pastor Earnest
Let's go over the 3 things, the 3 Elements you need to live a triumphant life.
1. Praise. Learning to praise God at all times.
Let the praise of God fill your heart, consciousness, mouth and mind.
As a king, David fought the most wars that Israel ever fought. It was as though his days of Kingship were days of war. But he made us to understand that even if there was a wall in front of him, he will leap over it by the spirit of God. He said, "the Lord is my shepherd I shall not want, He set the table before me in the midst of my enemies". So he had enemies all around him but he chose to always look at the triumphant life that God had given to him. This was a man that was not born again but he knew he had a relationship with God.
Psalm 34:1-5
Pastor (Rev. Chris Oyakhilome) made us understand the difference between the temple and the synagogue. That in those days, the temple was for praises and prayer.
So as a temple of God, your life is for praises and prayer.
Never allow yourself to be overwhelmed by the circumstances around you. Sometimes you are so involved in the challenges you are facing that it's as though your mind forgets the goodness of God. Sometimes you're even questioning "if God is good why is this happening?", but God is waiting for you to change the things you're asking him to come and change. Why? Because scripture says, "He can do all things according to the power that's at work inside of you" . So He's expecting you to change it because your life is your responsibility; to make it conform to his plan and purpose for you. He let's you know what He wants your life to become, so He shows you all that he has given you to use, to make your life conform. So apply the word in your life.
Train yourself to give thanks to God at all times, in spite of your circumstances Why? Because you know that in that place there is victory waiting for you.
Hebrews 13:15
Lift up your hands and praise Him. It's a sacrifice. We learnt that sacrifice is anything that is of value to you, that touches you when you're giving it. So even if you're lifting up your hands and your hands are tired, tel yourself "I'm lifting up my hands onto God", in spite of what you're feeling. Like David said, "I will not give unto God that which costs me nothing." Learn to give you best to God, it will help you to live a higher life.
In praising God and thanking Him, we tell of His goodness and His greatness. For example, if someone gives you a shirt, first you can say thank you. When you look at the shirt and say "Wow, what a beautiful shirt Brother Steven gave to me" you're praising brother Steven. Then if you go and show to someone and say "Look at the beautiful shirt brother Steven gave to me", you are extending that praise. You are making the person know that brother Steven is a good and kind person. So when they see brother Steven some other time, they're going to have in mind what you have said. So you have now expanded the goodness of brother Steven with anyone you come in contact with.
So when you tell of God's goodness to others, you're actually exalting His name. It's not enough to say, "Lord I exalt your name". No. The exaltation comes in you telling others about His greatness. What has God done for you lately that you have told somebody? Or are you just reminding Him of your issues?
Hebrews 13:16
You see, men have not seen God, but let them see God through you. Don't let your goodness only be to those who are around you. No, learn to share what God has given to you. Be quick to share. Don't always be looking out for who can give to me. Your thinking should be, what am I going to give at this time? Remember that you are the answer to somebody's prayer. To answer a prayer, God sends a man. Endeavor to be that man.
We are the outstretched hand of God and it's said, God is pleased with such sacrifices.
Say "I am the outstretched hand of God. I am the answer to the prayer of many. When people come in contact with me, they are in contact with God. I am full of goodness, love and compassion. As God is, so am I" .
Psalm 107:21
Men are full of requests, making requests of God. There's nothing wrong with that, He expects us to ask, but that is not all about our lives.
Learn to see the greatness of God, the kindness of God and thank him for it.
All that the enemy wants us to see is that the world is so full of evil but that's not true.
The world is more full of goodness than of evil. It's so sad that today when anyone comes close to you you think the person is evil. Even if somebody comes to help you, you runaway from the person because the wrong information you've heard over time so cloud your mind that you don't believe the person genuinely wants to help you.
Not to say we should be naive, but we have a witness in our spirit. When you have a relationship with God and you get to know what the Word says about you, He will always whisper into your spirit.
This year that you're entering into, helpers will come to you, from every area, and you'll recognize them. You'll have a witness in your spirit that God has sent them to you, and they will help you.
God is full of goodness, of wonderful works. Expose yourself to it, be in line with it, walk on that path of goodness, see goodness all the time.
Say to yourself, "Today I see nothing but the goodness of God".
Psalm 107:22
Hosea 14:2
Take with you words, God's words, carry them along with you. Say about your health what God says about your health. Say about your finances what God says about your finances. Say about your family what God says about your family.
So when you're thanking God, thank Him and say "this is what you have said about me and this is what I am".
2. Pray all the time
Remember Nehemiah, he heard what was happening in Israel, and Bible says, first of all he fasted and prayed. Then when the king asked what he would have him do, after Nehemiah had narrated the case to him, Bible says instantly Nehemiah prayed again. Which means he didn't leave the kings presence to go and pray. Right there he prayed and God told him what to do and gave him the confidence to say what he would say. God is with us all the time, so pray without ceasing.
Don't pray carrying the concerns and challenges over you. NO. Pray with gladness in your heart knowing that God takes your burdens from you and clears your path for you.
3. Prophesy at all times.
Take the word of God and say them continually. What do you want to see, let that be what comes out of your mouth.
It doesn't matter how many fall around you, you tell yourself I am not among those who fall.
