Question and answer session on Grace with Pastor Earnest

what is grace?

In your own words, what is grace or as defined by the scriptures or as defined by Pastor?

sometimes we make a study of the word and through that, we get an understanding by which we live

·         grace is unmerited favour/something you are not qualified for yet you have or enjoy

·         a supernatural elixir or something that brings favour and beauty to you

·         the divine influence in the heart of a man that is revealed outside

·         the ability of God which when a man receives, he adds to his faith to produce miracles

·         grace is a divine ability or influence at work in a man’s life that makes him successful in his life beyond his natural ability

·         grace is the outward expression of an inward influence

·         the inward ability in a man’s life

if you only look at grace as unmerited favour then there will be some aspects that you won’t be able to work with

because you keep looking at yourself as ‘I don’t qualify for this because it’s too good for me’

God in His infinite love knew that we were not good enough, but He accepted us

He brought us into His goodness

It’s the ability of God in the inside that makes you bring out results beyond your imagination or human abilities

God gives you His power when you get born again

Why does He give us His power?

He said when the power comes, we will become witnesses to Him which means God has a definite purpose for bringing His Holy Spirit into your life

God expects us to use that power that is in the inside of us to impact our world

Although this is a body that is perishing day by day, God has chosen it to be His abode

Grace is God’s power at work in the inside of me that shows on your outside

I can bring results beyond how I look

How different is the Holy Spirit you have received from the Holy Spirit in someone else?

It is the same power and ability

But do we all have the same results?

if we all have the same Holy Spirit why don’t we all have the same results?

·         different levels of faith

·         not everyone is taking advantage of the grace

·         the mindset

·         the knowledge of what you have and how to use what you have

·         your understanding of the grace that is at work in you

if you must get more results you need more grace

·         one who is more prayerful gets more results

·         the more yielded you are to Him in fellowship (prayer, etc)

·         2 Peter 1:2

if grace is multiplied, then the results of grace will be more

·         we are not getting the same results because we are not all using the ability at work in us/ we are all not applying revealed principles and means

·         because a lot of us do not know how to receive the answers to our prayers even though we know how to pray

most times when people say “by the grace of God”, it is because they are failing.

the problem is the application of this grace even though we know it is there

God gives us grace based on the results that He wants us to get

when someone asks you to buy something for him and gives you ghs 1o, he is expecting goods up to but not more than ghs 10

When God gives you grace, He expects you to bring the equivalent of that grace

for you to bring more results, then He will give you more grace

For instance, if you buy the person’s good at ghs 2 and he asks for the balance, he is right because you have not yet brought the ghs 10 equivalent

remember, he who is faithful in a little is will not be faithful in much

you have to know the level of results that He expects you to bring to Him

Ephesians 3:1-7 (TLB)

verse 8- (KJV)

people who always regret their actions are people who do not usually know their work

God gave Him the responsibility and the ability to do what He asked him to do

when it comes to the Children of God, there is no one child that is less than the other

(reference 2 Corinthians 5:17)

a special grace was given to Him for a special responsibility

-         Paul understood what was given to Him

-         he understood how to operate what was given to him

there is growth ingGod and God expects us to increase

He expects us to move to the next level

grace is not something we ask or pray for

grace is God’s gift

it is a free gift

no one qualifies for grace

you cannot qualify for it doesn’t mean you can't prove yourself worthy of it

how can I have more grace?

be humble

what is humility?

humility is not about being quiet

1.       have an understanding of what grace is

look at grace beyond unmerited favour

there is something that God expects you to accomplish

ask yourself, have I discovered  my purpose

God wants to use you beyond your family but you must be faithful in your family first

2.       you must recognise grace; know that it is there

Philippians 2:13

learn to recognise the grace at work in you

Proverbs 3:5-6

even when you are visualizing you no longer think about how big it is because you understand that there is enough grace

3.      recognise the purpose of the grace

4.      utilise/use the grace

Every morning when you wake up say, there is power at work in the inside of me and it is coming out in every area of your life

there is a makeup that grace can give to you

summary of the 4 points above

change your definition of grace

grace impacts my life

I manifest grace

acknowledge grace

let grace know that you know it is there

if the grace is there, why has God graced you

put grace to work

grace doesn’t work by itself
