Service Title: Building the House of God part 2

 

We learned about the various gates in the life of a Christian.

1.      The Sheep Gate

Looking at the different gates tell us the foreshadowing or the life of a Christian today.

The Bible actually tells us He is coming for a glorious Church without spot or wrinkle.

So, He is building His Church today.

God gave the 5 fold ministry to build the Church, to nurture the Church.

Jesus said He will build His Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it and He is doing that through everyone of us who comes to Him, that is born into Christ.

So, once you are born again, there is a responsibility for you.

Responsibility is a sign of maturity.

It is when you are still a babe that you keep asking for things to be done for you

Life is not about ‘give me give me’ when you look around you will see that there is responsibility for you to fulfil.

 

2.      The Fish Gate- once you come to Him you are now a sheep that He is pasturing and builds up so that you can also go out and nurture others.

 

3.      The Old Gate- once you get people born again, it is your responsibility to build them up with the word of God so that they also can become fishers of men. You win and build them with the word of God.

 

4.      The Valley Gate- this is a time when we go through lots of trials. And sometimes you may not be the one in the valley, but we are building one another up. As we grow in Christ there are situations that we go through at one point in time. No matter the situations we are faced with they are to build us, to strengthen us. It is our responsibility to find out brethren going through trials and help them. When you hear that a Christian is going through challenging times it is not for you to talk about but to pray about because we have a common enemy.

 

 

 When you pray you are building up a soul or a brother.

Understand that with every information that comes to you God expects you to do something about the situation.

 

The first thing God expects us to do is to pray. Sometimes people get tired. We are to pray because we are fighting against spiritual darkness.

 

5.      The Dung Gate- this is a place of sanctification or cleansing.

When you come to this gate everything that is not consistent with God’s word is cleansed and removed from you. God has shown us in His word who we are. At this gate you just flash those things off you or you help another brother or sister to wash those things off their lives.

 

6.      The Fountain Gate- Nehemiah 3:15

What does fountain mean in the life of Christians?

Jon 9:3-7

Every situation that we see gives us an opportunity to reveal the glory of God.

I am the light of the world.

 

Jesus is still living in us and so you can boldly say that as long as you are in the world you are the light of the world and so you give life to those who need.

When you meet things that are not in sync with God’s word you change them and make them to be in sync with His word.

John 4:14

Your responsibility is to flow to others and quench their thirst.

Make up your mind that anyone that comes in contact with you there will be a change in his life.

 

7.      The Water Gate- John 4:14

The water that Jesus is talking about here is the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit makes you exude the life of Christ.

That life that exudes out of you is the kindness, life, joy and courage of Christ, everything that Jesus Christ is the Holy makes flow through you

When you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, you discover that everywhere you go men will hear Jesus through you.

Anyone that hears you will receive encouragement.

 

I am a builder of lives.

 

The Holy Spirit is in you, but He has to live Himself through you.

We build lives.

That is what the Holy Spirit has come to do in the inside of us

Nehemiah 3:16

The Water Gate represents the anointing of the Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a Person and the anointing is His authority this is the difference between the Holy Spirit and the anointing.

When you come to the Water Gate you are empowered at every stage of your life

You are empowered daily.

The Spirit is already here with us and He did not leave His power before He came.

He comes with His power.

The Water Gate is a place of anointing, empowerment and a place where He brings you into an office.

 

1 Kings 1:32-35

Don’t wait until the Pastor tells you that you are ordained to do this or that.

There is always a prompting in the inside of you.

Sometimes the people that are called into a particular office are those who are already serving or working in that office.

We are here to build one another up.

The Holy Spirit comes and anoints you into an office.

You have been called into an office; you have one.

When you are given a responsibility guard it, be committed to it

 

8.      The Horse Gate- is a place of strength.

Psalm 92:10

This is a place of strength and authority.

When God gives you, a responsibility like in the Water Gate, He gives you the authority to fulfil it.

When God gives you a responsibility, He brings you into a place of authority.

There is an authority that is behind you and all that you need to do is to use that authority.

Devils understand authority but we know that they are rebels however when they meet a person who understands authority, they bow

 

I refuse to struggle.

I am a success all the time.

We don’t talk about problems we pray about them.

Stand on the authority that God has given to you.

 

9.      The East Gate- Nehemiah 3:29

Ezekiel 43:1-2

The East Gate represents the place of glory.

 

When you come into an office and understand the authority that is backing you up you have come to a place of glory

 

Psalm 23

This is a place of confidence.

I live a life of glory.

There is a power at work in the inside of you that poverty and sickness recognize.

 Don’t allow the situation to rule your life.

You are the one that God has empowered with is glory and authority.

 

 

10. The Gate Miphkad- a place appointed. Nehemiah 3:31

Matthew 28:16

Wherever God appoints, you that is His place of appointment.

 

There are blessings that we enjoy automatically that we do not have to pray for just because we are at the right place where He appointed us.

 

 

 

There is place of appointment and at all times we have to be at the place where He commissions us to be and fulfil His work.

 

Nehemiah 4:1-20 (TLB)

When people are looking at you and are saying all kinds of things against you it is not you that they are fighting against because there is something that is working through them to try and stop the results that you are getting.

 

There is a connection you have with God that the devil is trying to stop.

When God takes a man, He takes Him from glory to glory.

Don’t get angry that people are scoffing at you rather pray for them.

 

 

I have the Spirit of Christ, love and compassion.

Grace is not an excuse for hard work.

When grace is at work in you it enables you to do extra beyond your ability

Hard work is necessary.

Grace demands that we work hard.

There is work to be done.

The Holy Spirit is our strength.

The work needs to be done and the work must be done.

 

 

 

Until the battle is over don’t rest, don’t stop praying.

Never take a holiday from faith

How can you go and sleep when the devil never goes on break?

God always wants us to win.

We may never enjoy that victory until we do what He wants us to do.

 

 

Put on the whole armour of God.

The God that fights for us fights through us.

He wants us to understand the He works through us.

This is not the time for resting.

Train yourself.

 It is a time of war because the enemy will always be looking for the feeble ones to take off, but you are not the feeble one.

 

There is war going on.

Spend some personal time in prayer because He wants to answer you.

He knows we can handle the devil successfully.

Be the one to look out for the brethren because Jesus is coming for a Church without spot or wrinkle.

So, we must ensure that everyone of us strong and building.
