Service title: Building the House of God
Pastor Earnest Teaching:
Proclamation
I affirm that the Lord is the strength of my life
He is my satisfaction
He has made my life so beautiful
He has crowned me with His glory and filled me with His wisdom righteousness and grace
In Him I am complete
I am prosperous
I am successful in all things because I am an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ
Daily I am guided by God’s wisdom and His infallible truths are my delight because I have all that I require for a joyous, successful and victorious life
I have an excellent spirit and I produce excellent results in all that I do
The Holy Spirit is at work in me both to will and to deliver excellence in accordance with His perfect will
I am a success because I function with the wisdom of Christ and His super abundant grace
I am the apple of His eyes.
No evil will befall me neither shall any curse come to my dwelling
I am protected in my going out and in my coming in because I dwell in the secret place of the Most High
Christ is my habitation
As the mountains surround Jerusalem so am I surrounded by the Lord
I will never stumble nor fall because He that watches over me never sleeps nor slumbers
I will never stumble because the Lord has dispatched His angels to watch over me
Everywhere I go good is channeled towards me and I will always eat the good of the land.
Hallelujah
We live by faith and living by faith is responding to what the word of God says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God
For you to experience grace, you have to step put in faith
Grace is not something that we ask for nor pray for that is why it is called grace
Our confessions and declarations are not a reminder to God to do what He said he will do. He is His word.
God is His word
So when you are declaring or hearing the word of God it:
- Builds your faith and confidence
2. You are addressing the circumstances and situations concerning your life to comply with God’s word
3. God requires everyone to pray but He does not require the prayer of everyone to effect a change.
God works through me
So when you step out it is Him stepping out.
Hebrews 12:22-23 (NKJV)
I dwell in the City of the Living God (He is talking about the Church)
When you were born again, you were born into Christ
I am registered in heaven
Psalm 87:1-4 (TLB)
We boast of where we are born
The greatest nation of all is Christ
There is a mark upon my life
I am a registered citizen of heaven
I was born in heaven
I was born there and I live there all the days of my life
Psalm 51:18 (NKJV)
God wants us to keep on building the body of Christ
And He lives and dwells in us
At every point in time He wants us to see where He wants us to carry out this work of building
Christianity is not a place where we only ask God to ‘give us’
It is a place where He brings you to build His Church.
You are not a nonentity
You are a man or woman of purpose.
God talks to us all the time
Nehemiah 3:1 (TLB)
- The Sheep Gate
The Sheep refer to the Church.
That is the people of God.
Remember He said He will separate the sheep from the goats.
We are the sheep
God expects us to be shepherds.
We are talking about building the walls, building the Gates, building the Body of Christ.
Learn how to first of all submit as a sheep to your leaders(shepherds these could be your cell leaders, etc) so that you will also be able to shepherd those that are under you
Romans 12:1(TLB)
Sheep were often used for sacrifices
Jesus was like a sheep.
As He Is so are we
Just as He submitted to the will of God daily, He expects us to be wholly submitted to the will of God daily
Complete submission to God’s word and purpose
What has God brought you for at such a time as this?
Psalm 92:13(NKV)
Are you planted in the House of the Lord?
There are some plants that you use for decorations
But you cannot do that to those that are planted outside
We are planted in the House of God
We are not for decoration we are planted
We are Sons in the House
So whatever God demands from you He expects you to be completely yielded to it
Nehemiah 3:3 (TLB)
2. The Fish Gate
Mark 4:18-19
It is our responsibility to win souls
It is our responsibility to bring others in and train them and build them
Gates refer to authority, power or influence
We are the ones to ensure that we do what God has asked us to do
Jesus is the One that will make us fishers of men
He is the one making us
Never be intimidated by any situation or circumstances
Be bold and proud in what God has made you.
God wants us to bring more and more people into the Kingdom
So you look at the seas of the world, the seas of humanity
Everyone who comes in contact with you is destined to come into the Kingdom
3. The Old Gate
Proverbs 22:28(NKJV)
The word of God is referred to as the ancient land mark
So, when we bring in souls we are to teach them the word to build their lives so that they will be able to stand before princes
God’s desire is to build you up so that you will be excellent in all that you do and be able to stand before great men and women
4. The Valley Gate
In the process of our walk with God we sometimes experience challenges
You realise that they are some Christians who are in the valley of their lives and so it is our responsibility to bring them up.
When you realise a brother or sister is no longer coming to Church, go and encourage them and build them up because they might be going through some challenges that they cannot solve by themselves
They may be experiencing financial or health valleys.
Once God makes you see or hear their challenges, it is your responsibility to help them
When you are privileged to hear it means God wants to you do something about it
Romans 5:3-5(NKJV)
We glory in tribulations because we understand where God has destined us to go
There is a hope that is set before us
There is a joy that is set before us
This hope makes not ashamed because it will surely come.
Let them understand that this is not the time to give up
Let them understand that they are victors because God is with us through it all
Your brother needs you
Your sister needs you
5. The Dung Gate
This is the gate of sanctification
Hebrews 12:1- (NKJV)
What is that thing that is trying to take you away from where God wants you?
It is a weight
Shed it off
Don’t become so big that nobody can talk to you anymore
Everything that is not necessary take it off
Philippians 3:7-9 (NKJV)
Galatians 2:20
We are crucified with Christ
Don’t hold yourself at a higher esteem than you are
When God sends you to preach the gospel to your neighbours, don’t see them as non entities
When you understand that you are a Child of God yourself doesn’t matter any more
God wants us to lay down our lives
All the things that you are amassing and spending all your time and attention on, at the end of the day, what do you need it for?
