Service Title: The Mission and Purpose of the Church

Joel 2:28, Isaiah 32:13-15-17, Isaiah 39:28-29[these words are blessings to Israel].

Israel understood that in the days of the Messiah’s walk in the earth, they were going to have the Spirit.

Acts 1:4-5

Here Jesus is talking about a regeneration, that is, a rebirth.

Regeneration is ‘palinginisia’- which means a rebirth.

Titus 3:1-5

Acts 3:19-21.

If you are Born Again, you are actually a new species, with a new nature.

Luke 19:10-15, verse 27-28

 

The Kingdom promised to Israel is an earthly kingdom.

Understand this: A physical Kingdom to be set in the earth but first as always, there is a Spiritual before the physical, the heavenly before the earthly. Thus, the Church is the Spiritual Kingdom, and the earthly kingdom will be introduced at the millennium.

There is a creation and a forming.

The spirit man was created first and the body was formed.

When God breathed into the body He formed, the spirit man was introduced into the body.

 

John 18:34-38(KJV)

Jesus was referring to Himself when He said a nobleman went into a far country to receive a Kingdom.

Did He receive the Kingdom?

Obviously, He did.

How did he obtain the Kingdom?

1.     He obtained the Kingdom by Obedience:

In the Spirit, the laws are different from this world.

Philippians 2:8-11

Obedience is a great blessing in the life of a Christian.

God has His structures and systems, and they are spiritual.

2.     He paid for the world (Kingdom):

How did He pay?

Matthew 13:38-44

The field is the world.

Hebrews 1:1-4, Hebrews 2:9

Psalm 22:6-30- this Psalm is talking about Jesus on the Cross.

In Verse 30 (a Seed) refers to us the Church.

·         Dogs refer to the Gentiles (the Romans).

 

3.     He got the Kingdom by His conquest:

He fought and got the Kingdom.

Hebrews 12:11-1

He humbled Himself and OBTAINED the Kingdom through death

Colossians 2:15

Psalm 68:18 (ESV)

Ephesians 4:8-10

Jesus made a public spectacle of the devil when he descended and fought in hell.

Note: He descended first into the lower parts of the earth.

Matthew 27:50-53

Psalm 24:7-10

The cloud that received Him refers to the cloud of witnesses, that is, those who arose with Him from hell.

Jesus delivered everyone who was ever in fear of death.

1 Corinthians 2:6 (James Moffat)

Hebrews 5:1-6

Jesus Christ became a Priest after the Order of Melchizedek.

Jesus is the Author of Salvation to everyone that believes Him.

Hebrews 7:1-2

King of Salem- means King of Peace.

Jesus is a Priest after the Order of Melchizedek King-Priest.

He is the King of Righteousness.

If He is King, then He has a Kingdom.

 

·         God has only intervened in the affairs of men by direct relationships or upon covenants since the fall of Adam but His direct rule or dominion over men ended with Adam (the First.

The 2^nd Adam, who is Jesus Christ, came preaching the Kingdom of God, establishing the Kingdom of God.

Through this dispensation of the Kingdom of Heaven, men are brought into the Kingdom of God- this is Salvation.

Jesus Christ is the Only means by which men enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52

What is the “Last Trump”?

We will look at this by contextual analysis.

1 Corinthians 15:39-52 (KJV, AMPC)

There is the Celestial and the Terrestrial.

There is the Spiritual and the natural

There is the First Adam and the Last or the Second Adam.

 

The Bible is telling us there are 2 Trumpets.

Note He said at the “last”, that is the 2^nd
The 1^st Trumpet is for the dead in Christ, that is, at the sound of the first Trumpet, the dead in Christ shall rise first. This is the Trumpet of the Manifestation of Jesus’ Glory.

And the Last Trumpet is for us, that is when we shall be changed(transformed), this is the Trumpet of the Assembly (the gathering us who are alive and remain unto the Lord).
