Service Title: The Mission and Purpose of the Church

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Teaching:

When you feed on lies you live by lies.

How do you know truth?

by believing the truth and receiving the truth

Truth distinguishes itself.

Truth comes to your spirit.

It produces love for God in your heart.

If it doesn’t do that then it is not the truth

God’s word is truth.

Truth brings you liberty and direction because the word of God is light.

One of the things that Satan has used to deceive many is the so called ‘Cultural Heritage Day’.

Christians are not supposed to be a part of that.

We have a different culture.

We were born into God’s Kingdom.

1 Peter 2:13-15, Romans 13:1-4

Matthew 23:1, Matthew 17:24-27

We are very obedient as children of God but that does not mean we are ignorant of the truth.

Ephesians 6:12

·         Even good men can be moved by Satan to do and say things that they should not do or say.

·         God wants us to know truth and when we know truth we live in the truth.

The anti-Christ spirit spies on you and makes you spy on others.

Sometimes you find yourself in situations that look as though you have no power but what you have to do is to say no to the spirits behind that situation.

It matters in life who inspires you.

We cannot discuss the subject of the mission and purpose of the Church without first looking at the origin.

Understand that there is a universal kingdom.

Matthew 3:1-2, Matthew 4:17

One of the reasons they rejected Jesus’ message was because of His preaching on repentance.

God promised the Kingdom to Israel.

All you had to do to be part of that kingdom was to be born a Jew.

So, they didn’t understand why Jesus said they should repent because “the Kingdom of heaven is at hand”.

Only Matthew uses kingdom of Heaven, the rest that is, Mark, Luke and John use Kingdom of God.

John uses the term Kingdom of God twice in John 3:1-3.

Matthew uses both expressions, that is, Kingdom of Heaven and Kingdom of God because he was the only one who could decipher between when Jesus used both terms.

Use Matthew as the right reference when distinguishing between kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven.

The Kingdom of Heaven is headed by Jesus and it is established in the earth.

Greek renders it as Kingdom of the Heavens which means the rulership of God.

The Kingdom of God is universal and goes beyond mere territories and can be established in the hearts of men.

The Kingdom of heaven is an embassy in the earth for the Kingdom of God.

Proverbs 8:20-31 (KJV, AMPC)

The world was created by the Holy Spirit.

He is the Master Builder of the work.

The Father and Son are very protective of the Holy Spirit that is why any sin against Him will never be forgiven.

The Holy Spirit is the One who gave us the Scriptures.

The Holy Ghost is the One who fashioned you.

If you ever wondered what the Holy Ghost looks like, He looks like you. Hallelujah!

That is why when anyone receives the Holy Ghost, they are full of joy.

There are places but not all places are habitable.

God made us by the Holy Ghost and the delight of the Holy Ghost is with men (verse 31).

That is why Jesus encourages the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

It will change your life completely.
